A kid friendly and appealing biscuit or cookie recipe, Lollipop biscuits are easy to prepare. The dough made from flour, sugar, baking soda, margarine and milk is rolled and then cut into rounds. These rounds are then baked and then served with jam on the top.

Ingredients


7 oz self raising flour
2 1/2 oz margarine
1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
3 1/2 tbsp milk
3 oz soft brown sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
2 oz strawberry jam
a pinch of salt
wooden skewers

Method

  1. Mix flour, salt, bicarbonate of soda and sugar.
  2. Add margarine, vanilla essence and milk.
  3. Knead for about 2minutes.
  4. Roll out on a floured board, and cut into round shapes.
  5. Place on baking sheets and spread with a thin layer of jam.
  6. Place skewers into jam.
  7. Bake in moderate oven for 15minutes.
