Ingredients


To Be Mixed Together For The Filling
3 cups boiled yellow moong dal (split yellow gram) , mashed
salt to taste
1 tsp freshly ground black pepper powder

For The Chapatis
2 cups whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
a pinch of salt

oil for deep frying

Method

  1. Sieve the whole wheat flour and salt together in a bowl.
  2. Knead into a soft dough using enough water.
  3. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and roll out each portion into a circle of 150 mm. (6") diameter. Keep aside.

  1. Divide the filling into 16 equal portions and keep aside.
  2. Divide each chapati into two halves.
  3. Make a cone from each part and stuff with the filling.
  4. Seal the edges carefully using a little water.
  5. Repeat with the remaining chapatis and filling.
  6. Deep fry in hot oil till golden brown in colour.
  7. Serve hot with green chutney or any chutney of your choice.
