Ingredients


1 tsp dried ginger powder (soonth)
1 tsp cinnamon (dalchini) powder
1/2 tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder
3 cups plain flour (maida)
3 eggs (optional)
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp soda bi carb
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup butter
1 cup chopped walnuts (akhrot)
2 cups sugar
2 tbsp grated ginger (adrak)
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 tsp vanilla essence
2 Bread loaf pans - greased & lightly powdered with flour

Method

  1. Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl.
  2. Beat eggs, butter, and sugar...and add to the above ingredients.
  3. Add buttermilk very slowly till you form a thick consistency but not very hard.
  4. Prepare the loaf pans as directed.
  5. Pour 1/2 mixture in both.
  6. Sprinkle fresh ginger on top of both the pans and slightly press down.
  7. Bake at 350 deg f for 45-50 minutes till toothpick comes out clean/bread looks brownish and voila it''s done!
