250 gms butter
250 gms sugar
1 1/4 tsp soda bi carbonate
3/4 cup warm milk
550 gms plain flour (maida)

1/2 cup sugar
3 tbsp cinnamon (dalchini) powder


  1. Cream the butter and sugar till light and fluffy.
  2. Add the warm milk.
  3. Sieve the flour and sodabicarbonate and add to the mixture and bind to make a dough.
  4. Leave the dough for a while before rolling out.
  5. Roll out the biscuits and cut them with a 2inch round cutter.
  6. Drop 1/2teaspoon of the combined sugar and cinnamon onto the centre of each round and gather up the sides of the biscuit to form a little triangle and sprinkle a little cinnamon powder on top.
  7. Bake in a moderate oven until light brown in colour.
  8. Cool on trays.
