For The Covering
1 to 1 1/2 cups dessicated coconut
1/4 cup powdered cashewnuts (kaju)
1/8 cup powdered pistachios
1/4 cup condensed milk
1/2 tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder

For The Paneer Balls
1 cup grated paneer (cottage cheese)
2 1/2 tbsp icing sugar
2 tbsp milk powder
1/4 tsp powdered cardamoms
a few saffron (kesar) strands strands
1 to 2 drops yellow food colour
8 to 20 maraschino cherries

  1. Combine the dessicated coconut, cashewnut powder, pistachip powder, cardamom powder in a bowl, add enough condensed milk, mix well and knead into a soft dough.
  2. Divide the dough into 8 to 10 equal portions and shape them into balls.
  3. Flatten each portion into your palms. Keep aside.

  1. Combine all the ingredients, except glace cherries and mix well.
  2. Divide the mixture into 8-10 balls. F

How to proceed

  1. Place a portion of the stuffing at the centre of the flattened dough and bring the edges together at the edges.
  2. Seal well and refrigerate the balls for 2-3 hours.
  3. Cut into 2 halves carefully with a sharp knife and place in paper cups.
  4. Serve chilled.
