125 gms sesame seeds (til)
250 gms softened butter
250 gms sugar
4 cups rice flour (chawal ka atta)
a little rose essence
a few rose petals

  1. Toast sesame seeds and powder them finely with sugar.
  2. Mix in butter, form into small balls the size of a small marbles and set in the fridge to harden for a few hours.
  3. Add enough water to the rice flour to form a dough.
  4. Roll the dough out into one-fourth inch thick sheet.
  5. Stamp our rounds with the help of a biscuit butter or an inverted glass.
  6. Place one sesame-butter balls in the centre.
  7. Fold dough over to form round dumplings.
  8. Bring a vessel of water to a boil, boil dumplings in it stirring constantly and gently till they rise to the surface.
  9. Reduce the flame and let them simmer for 15 mins.
  10. 6Serve the dumplings hot in water used for boiling.
  11. Sprinkle a little rose essence and a few fresh petals of rose on top.
