Ingredients


For The Green Peas Mixture
1 1/2 cups boiled green peas , lightly mashed
1 1/2 tsp peanut oil
1 tbsp finely chopped green chillies
2 pinches baking soda
2 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp sugar
salt to taste

For The Potato Mixture
1 1/4 cups boiled peeled and mashed potatoes
1 tbsp finely chopped green chillies
1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1 tsp sugar
salt to taste
2 tsp peanut oil

For The Paneer Mixture
1/2 cup grated paneer (cottage cheese)
1/4 tsp finely chopped green chillies
1 tsp cornflour
salt to taste

For Cooking The Green Peas , Potato and Paneer Cutlet
1 cup plain flour (maida) dissolved in 1 1/2 cups of water
bread crumbs for rolling
peanut oil for deep-frying

For Serving With Green Peas , Potato and Paneer Cutlet

Method
For the green peas mixture

    For the green peas mixture
  1. Heat the oil in a non stick pan, add the green chillies and sauté on a medium flame for a few seconds.
  2. Add the green peas, soda-bi-carb, lemon juice, sugar and salt and cook on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
  3. Remove from the flame and keep aside to cool completely.

For the potato mixture

  1. Combine the potatoes, green chillies, turmeric powder, sugar and salt in a bowl and mix well.
  2. Heat the oil in a broad non-stick pan, add the potato mixture and cook on a medium flame for 1 minute, while stirring continuously.
  3. Keep aside to cool slightly.

For the paneer mixture

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a bowl, mix well and keep aside.

  1. Combine the green pea mixture, potato mixture and paneer mixture in a bowl and mix well.
  2. Divide the mixture into 12 equal portions and shape each portion into a 67 mm. (2½“) diameter thick round cutlet.
  3. Dip each green peas, potato and paneer cutlet in the plain flour-water mixture and roll in the bread crumbs till it is evenly coated from all the sides.
  4. Heat the oil in a kadhai and deep-fry the green peas, potato and paneer cutlets, 2 to 3 at a time, till they turn golden brown in colour from both the sides. Drain on absorbent paper.
  5. Serve the green peas, potato and paneer cutlet immediately with tomato ketchup.

    For The Green Peas Mixture

    1. For the Green Peas Potato And Paneer Cutlet, place 1½ cup of frozen peas on a microwave-proof plate. Sprinkle 2 tablespoon of water over them.Microwave on high for 2 minutes.
    2. Lightly mash the green peas with a potato masher and keep aside.
    3. Heat the oil in a nonstick pan.
    4. Once the oil is moderately hot, add the green chillies and sauté on a medium flame for a few seconds.
    5. Add the green peas.
    6. Also, add soda-bi-carb. This is totally optional but soda helps improve the appearance of green peas.
       
    7. Add the lemon juice. Chaat masala, amchur powder can also be used to give a tangy flavour instead.
    8. Add the sugar and salt. Sugar balances the spice and tang but, you can skip if you dislike.
    9. Mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes, while stirring occasionally. Remove from the flame and keep aside to cool completely. Green Peas Mixture for Green Peas Potato And Paneer Cutlet is ready.

    For The Potato Mixture

    1. For potato mixture of Green Peas Potato And Paneer Cutlet, boil and peel around 4 medium sized potatoes.
    2. Mash the potatoes with the help of potato masher and transfer into a deep bowl.
    3. Add the green chillies. If you have green chilly paste then you can add that too.
    4. Add the turmeric powder.
    5. Add the sugar and salt.
    6. Heat oil in a broad non-stick pan.
    7. Add the potato mixture. Cook on a medium flame for 1 minute, while stirring continuously. Remove from the flame and keep aside to cool slightly

    For The Paneer Mixture

    1. For the paneer mixture of Green Peas Potato And Paneer Cutlet, grate the block of paneer and measure ½ cup from it and transfer into a deep bowl.
    2. Add the finely chopped green chillies. You can vary the spice levels as desired.
    3. Also, add the cornflour. You can even make use of refined flour.
    4. Add salt to taste and mix well. Keep aside.

    For The Cutlet Mixture

    Wow, these cutlets are just so tasty. Crunchy from outside, and melts in the mouth. The paneer, pea, and potato excellent combo. I also used these cutlets to make it into mini burger for my party. It was loved by all.

    These are a great combination of green peas, potatoes and paneer. they are crunchy from outside and soft from inside...worth a try !
