8 to 10 bread slices
1/3 cup sour curds (khatta dahi)
3/4 cup besan (bengal gram flour)
4 green chillies , chopped
2 tbsp chopped coriander (dhania)
1/2 tsp chilli powder
a pinch asafoetida (hing)
salt to taste
oil for deep-frying

  1. In a deep bowl, crumble the bread slices,add the curds along with some water and mix well. Keep it aside for 2 hours.
  2. Add the green chillies,coriander, chilli powder, besan, hing and salt and mix well.
  3. Divide the mixture into 10 to 15 equal portions and prepare a round bhajia of each portion.
  4. Heat the oil in a kadhai and deep fry each bhajia till golden brown in colour from all the sides.
  5. Serve hot with chutney of your choice.
