1 1/2 cups grated fresh coconut
2 1/4 cups sugar
450 gms mava (khoya)
a few drops pink colour or a little saffron (kesar) strands

  1. Grate the khoya very well.
  2. Put the sugar and coconut to cook. Go on cooking and stirring until the mixture becomes thick.
  3. Add the khoya and a little pink colour or saffron.
  4. Spread the mixture on thali (flat metal plate), cool and cut into desired shape. Alternatively, serve in paper cups topped with chopped glace cherries.
