Madgane is sweet dish recipe prepared from dals and cashewnuts. The boiled dal is mixed with coconut, cashewnuts and jaggery and then served with raisins and cardamom as garnishing.

Ingredients
1 cup chana dal (split bengal gram)
1 coconut , grated
1 to 2 cups grated jaggery (gur)
2 tsp rice (chawal)
4 to 5 cardamoms , powdered
Method
    Method
  1. Boil chana dal with sufficient water till soft. Keep aside.
  2. Blend the coconut in a mixer till smooth and strain using a muslin cloth. Keep the milk aside.
  3. Blend the rice in a mixer into a smooth paste and keep aside.
  4. Combine the boiled chana dal, coconut milk, jaggery and the rice paste in a deep pan, mix well and bring to a boil till the jaggery is fully melted.
  5. Add ground elaichi powder.
  6. Serve hot.
