    Method
  1. Clean and wash the moong dal.
  2. Combine the moong dal with all the ingredients in a pressure cooker and pressure cook for 3-4 whistles.
  3. Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid and whisk the dal lightly.
  4. For the tempering, heat the oil in a small pan add the cinnamon, cardamon, bay leaf and cloves and saute for few seconds.
  5. Add this tempering to the dal and mix well.
  6. Serve hot garnished with coriander.
