-if the filling tends to come out while frying, make a
thin batter by mixing 1 tbsp Maida with 1/2 cup water
and a pinch of salt. dip the slices in this batter
before frying.

Ingredients



*FOR CRUST-
1 cup plain flour (maida)
3 tbsp oil
1 tsp salt

FOR FILLING-
3 medium sized potatoes, boiled
salt to taste
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1 1/2 tsp chaat masala
1 tsp garam masala

FOR FRYING-
oil

Method

  1. Mix maida, salt and oil till crumbly. make a stiff dough with luke warm water.cover and keep aside.
  2. Mash the potatoes well with all filling ingredients.
  3. Roll a circle of dough(like chapati)about 1 cm thick.
  4. Spread the filling over dough circle, leaving 1/2 inch from all sides.
  5. Roll the dough carefully to form a tight cylinder.
  6. Seal the edges with the help of little water.
  7. Now with a sharp knife cut 1 inch thick slices out of cylinder.
  8. Press gently each slice in the center of palm and deep fry.
  9. Serve with chutney or sauce.
