Ingredients


For the dough (wontons)
1 1/8 cups plain flour (maida)
3 tsp oil

For the stuffing (wontons)
3/4 cup boiled noodles
1 1/2 cups shredded cabbage
2 onions, sliced
1 carrot, grated
3/4 cup bean sprouts
1/2 tsp M.S.G
1 tsp soy sauce
2 tbsp oil
oil for deep frying
salt to taste

For the sweet and sour vegetables
100 gms french beans
4 sticks of celery (ajmoda)
100 gms carrots
100 gms onions
100 gms cauliflower
100 gms cabbage
100 gms cucumber
100 gms capsicum
1/2 tsp M.S.G
4 tbsp oil
salt to taste

For the sweet and sour sauce
1/2 cup brown vinegar
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
2 tbsp cornflour
1 tbsp soy sauce
4 tbsp tomato ketchup

Method
For the dough (wontons)

    For the dough (wontons)
  1. Mix all the ingredients and add enough water to make a stiff dough.
  2. Roll out into very thin circles.

For the stuffing (wontons)

  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil on a high flame.
  2. Add the cabbage, onions, carrot, bean sprouts and ajinomoto powder and cook for 3 minutes.
  3. Add the noodles, soya sauce and salt.

  1. Put a little stuffing on each dough circle and fold over to make a semi circle. bring the ends together and press.
  2. Repeat with the remaining dough and stuffing.
  3. Deep fry in oil.

  1. Cut the french beans and celery into 25 mm. (1") pieces.
  2. Slice the carrots and onions.
  3. Cut the rest of the vegetables into flat pieces.
  4. Heat the oil on a high flame, add the vegetables and ajinomoto powder and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. add salt.

  1. Mix all the ingredients and put to boil.
  2. Go on cooking and stirring until the sauce becomes thick.

  1. Heat the sizzler tray (thick cast iron tray) thoroughly.
  2. Spread the vegetables on the sides and put the wontons in the centre.
  3. Pour the sauce on top of the vegetables and wontons and sizzle on the gas or in the oven.
  4. Serve hot with chillies in vinegar and chilli.
