To Be Mixed and Grounded Into A Paste
5 whole dry kashmiri red chillies
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
2 tsp tamarind (imli) pulp
salt to taste
a pinch of asafoetida (hing)
1/2 tsp grated jaggery (gur)
2 tbsp grated coconut
water as required

Other Ingredients
2 tbsp oil
1/4 tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
2 raw bananas , peeled and cubed
finely chopped coriander (dhania) for garnishing

  1. Heat the oil in a kadhai and add the mustard seeds.
  2. When the seeds crackle, add the bananas and a little turmeric powder.
  3. Add the grounded paste and mix well. Cook on a slow flame till the bananas becomes soft and tender.
  4. Remove from the flame and transfer it in a serving bowl.
  5. Serve hot garnished with coriander leaves.
