  1. Pressure cook the beetroot along with tamarind, tomato puree, sambhar masala and toovar dal, till the beetroot turns soft.
  2. Heat the oil in a kadhai, add the mustard seeds and urad dal.
  3. When the seeds crackle, add the curry leaves and coconut and saute till it turns light brown.
  4. Add this fried coconut to the beetroot, whisk and simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Serve hot.
