Ingredients

1/2 cup whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
2 tbsp finely chopped fenugreek (methi) leaves
1 tbsp sesame seeds (til)
1 tsp oil
salt to taste

2 1/2 tsp oil for cooking

Method
    Method
  1. Combine the whole wheat flour, fenugreek leaves, sesame seeds, oil and salt in a bowl and knead into a soft dough using enough water.
  2. Divide the dough into 10 equal portions and roll out each portion into a 150 mm. (6”) thin diameter circle with help of a little whole wheat flour for rolling.
  3. Heat a non-stick tava (griddle) and cook each khakhra on a slow flame, using ¼ tsp of oil, till pink spots appear on both the sides.
  4. Continue cooking the khakhra on a slow flame, while pressing with a folded muslin cloth till it turns crisp and dark brown spots appear on both the sides.
  5. Remove from the flame and allow to cool.
  6. Store in an air-tight container.

Nutritious khakhras which can be made at home. Sesame seeds give a very good crunch and taste to these khakhras. I often carry them in dabba to work. Go healthy with this healthy snack.
