4 lettuce leaves
4 tsp tomato ketchup
4 medium sized potatoes, (boiled and mashed)
2 medium sized onions, chopped
2 cheese cubes, grated
4 cheese slices
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp chaat masala
salt to taste
1 medium sized brinjal (baingan / eggplant) (cooked and mashed)
2 tbsp oil (+ oil for deep frying)
1 egg
2 tbsp crushed vermicelli (seviyan)
8 bread slices


  1. Heat oil, add the onions and stir till golden brown.
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients (i.e.) the potatoes, grated cheese, chilli powder, chaat masala, brinjal and mix well.
  3. Add salt as per taste.
  4. Make small pattice rounds and dip them in egg.
  5. Coat it with vermicelli and deep fry till golden brown colour.
  6. Serve the patties sandwiched between the bread slices on the lettuce and tomato sauce.
