Ingredients

For The Dough
2 cups plain flour (maida)
1 tbsp soda bi-carb
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp freshly ground black peppercorns (kalimirch)
1/3 cup butter cubed
3/4 cup milk

For The Filling
1/4 cup sweet corn kernels (makai ke dane) parboiled
1/2 cup cream cheese
1/4 cup grated processed cheese
2 tbsp finely chopped spring onions
salt to taste
1/2 tsp white pepper powder
1/2 tsp chilli flakes or to taste
Method

For the dough

    For the dough
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Rub in the butter with your finger tips until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
  3. Add enough milk to form a soft dough.
  4. Turn out onto a lightly floured board and knead about 30 seconds.
  5. Roll dough to 6mm thickness. Divide 1nto 4 rectangles. Keep aside.

  1. In a another bowl, combine the corn, cream cheese, seasoning, cheese and onions.

How to proceed

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 200 degree C.
  2. Spread the filling equally on 4 rectangles leaving 1cm strip along one long edge.
  3. Moisten that strip with a little milk and roll the dough towards it tightly, like a swiss roll, sealing it at the end.
  4. Cut into 9 even slices and place flat on baking tray. Bake for about 12 to 15 minutes, until golden brown.

  1. Make the roll and refrigerate sealed in plastic wrap for a few hours or until ready to use. Slice and bake.
