Fruit and Vegetable Raita

A combination of fruits and vegetables gives this raita a welcome blend of flavours – sweet, savoury and tangy as well. Not only that, the chosen fruits and vegetables also bring in a variety of textures, from mushy bananas and crunchy grapes to soft apples and juicy cucumbers.

Makes 6 servings
1 cup fresh low fat curds (dahi) , whisked
1 tbsp fresh cream
1 tbsp low fat milk (99.9% fat-free , readily available in the market)
1 tsp mustard (rai / sarson) powder
1 tsp roasted cumin seeds (jeera) powder
2 tsp sugar
salt to taste
1/2 cup grapes , halved
1 cup chopped apples
1/2 cup chopped bananas
1/2 cup chopped cucumber
- Method
- Combine the curds, cream, milk, mustard powder, cumin seeds powder, sugar and salt in a bowl and mix well. Refrigerate to chill.
- Add the grapes, apples, banana and cucumber and toss well.
- Serve chilled.
