બાફીને મસળેલું કંદ (boiled and mashed purple yam)

Wash, dry and peel the purple yam with a sharp knife. Cut the purple yam into big pieces and place in a steamer to parboil for 5 to 7 minutes . Once cooled, open the steamer and remove in a deep bowl and cool it completely. Once cooled, grate it using a grater.
