Indian style guacamole is basically had as a dip, spread or even as a salad. guacamole dip can be prepared in a jiffy and it requires no cooking. If you are hosting a party at home, add this guacamole dip to your menu as it is loved by most of the people.
A flavourful and healthy avocado-based dip, Guacamole originated in Mexico but has now become popular all over the world not just as a dip but also as a salad dressing and sandwich topping. Ensure you take ripe avocados to avoid a raw taste that displeases the taste buds!
Once you have made the right choice of fruit, there is nothing more to this dip that chopping and mixing. All you need to do is scoop out the avocados. Mash well using a fork or a masher to your desired consistency. For the perfect guacamole texture, you want slightly chunky avocado and not very smooth. Add deseeded tomatoes, onion, garlic, coriander adds freshness, green chillies, lemon juice and lastly some fresh cream. Mix well and our Mexican guacamole is ready to be relished!
A splash of lemon will help to balance the richness of the avocado in the guacamole and also prevent browning. Fresh jalapenos, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, chilli powder are some other ingredients that you can toss in for some spice in your Indian style guacamole.
A dollop of fresh cream enhances the texture and mouth feel to Indian style guacamole, while the lemon juice imparts a refreshing tang and also prevents discoloration of the avocado pulp.

Makes 1.5 cups
For Guacamole
2 ripe avocado
1/4 cup deseeded and finely chopped tomatoes
2 tbsp finely chopped onions
1 tsp finely chopped garlic (lehsun)
1 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
1 tsp finely chopped green chillies
1/2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp fresh cream
salt to taste

- To make {span class="bold1"}mexican guacamole{/span}, cut each avocados in halves. Remove the seed and scoop out the centre portion.
- Transfer the mixture into a bowl and mash well using a fork or a masher.

Buy avocados that are ripe and avoid using over-riped avocados that are mushy on the inside. To pick right avocado, place it in your palm and give it a light squeeze. If it has a slight resistance, with no soft spots then it’s ready.

Cut each avocado in 2 halves using a sharp knife.

Scoop out the center portion with the help of a spoon.

Transfer the mixture into a bowl.

Mash well using a fork or a masher to your desired consistency. For the perfect guacamole texture, you want slightly chunky avocado and not very smooth.

Add all the remaining ingredients starting with 1/4 cup deseeded and finely chopped tomatoes. The firm, ripe tomatoes without any juice (liquid) are ideal to get the best guacamole.

Add 2 tbsp finely chopped onions.

Add 1 tsp finely chopped garlic (lehsun). Many people find the garlic flavor distracting if you feel the same skip adding it.

Add 1 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania) for a fresh irresistibility factor.

Add 1 tsp finely chopped green chillies. Fresh jalapenos, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, chilli powder are some other ingredients that you can toss in for some spice in your guacamole.

Add 1/2 tbsp lemon juice. A splash of acidity will help to balance the richness of the avocado in the guacamole and also prevent browning.

Add 1 tbsp fresh cream. This is optional and you can skip adding if your avocado is creamy.

Add salt to taste. Adding salt enhances other flavors so ensure you season well.
