A Hungarian food specialty, Langos are basically deep fried flat breads which is prepared from wheat flour mixed with water, yeast and salt. A popular street food in Hungary, the langos is also called as Hungarian pizza and can be served with beans or meats.

Ingredients

2 BOWLS WHOLEWHEAT FLOUR
1/2 TSP BAKING FLOUR
1MEDIUM POTATO BOILED AND GRATED
3TSPs OIL
1 tsp salt
1TSP YEAST
1TSP SUGAR
1/2 tsp black peppercorns (kalimirch)
1/2CUP WARM MILK
TO BE MIXED TOGTHER FOR THE SALAD:
2BOWLS SHREDDED CABBAGE
1/2BOWL SHREDDED CARROT
1 CUCUMBER, FINELY CHOPPED
1TOMATO, FINELY CHOPPED
salt and black pepper (kalimirch) powder to taste
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2TSP VINEGAR
1TSP OIL.
MIX EVERTHING TOGETHER FOR
SOUR CREAM:
1BOWL YOUGURT,
2 tsp lemon juice
FOR THE CHILLI SAUCE:
2GREEN CHILLIES
4RED CHILLIES
1TSP WHITE VINEGAR
1TSP SOYA SAUCE
salt and sugar to taste
2TBSP TOMATO SAUCE
1 tsp crushed garlic (lehsun)
2TSP TOMATO KETCHUP
2TSPS GRATED CHEESE
green chillies
green coriander (dhania)
SALT AND SUGAR.
OTHER INGREDIENTS
1 BOWL GRATED CHEESE
FOR THE GARNISH
chopped coriander (dhania)
Method


  1. Method:
  2. Put yeast and sugar in little warm water and let it rise.
  3. Mix it with all the above ingredient and knead to make soft dough.
  4. Leave for 1 hour to rise.
  5. Make small balls and roll on polythene paper in oblong shape and make rotis and cook them on tava.
  6. For the chilli sauce
  7. Put little oil in bowl and heat, add garlic and then add everthing.
  8. When cool grind it,
  9. How to proceed:
  10. Take langos, spread chilli sauce, sour cream, then salad, and top with cheese.
  11. And serve hot
