Enjoy Palidu with steamed rice and prepare it in the authentic South Indian style by cooking lentils with drumsticks,kokum and besan. A lovely lentil recipe, palidu is best enjoyed hot with chopped coriander leaves and grated coconut as garnish.

Method


  1. Boil dal with a little turmeric powder & salt
  2. After dal becomes tender remove water and keep aside
  3. Dal should be added to rice
  4. Heat oil
  5. Put onion,mustard,jeera,methi seeds
  6. Put red chilly powder,turmeric powder,dhania powder,ginger-garlic paste,salt
  7. Add little water
  8. Put pumkin & cook till tender
  9. Add more water
  10. Make besan paste with little water
  11. Add it
  12. Cook till besan gets diluted in the soup.
  13. Garnish with coriander leaves.
