Papad Mangodi ki Subzi

Papad Mangodi ki Subzi recipe - How to make Papad Mangodi ki Subzi

  1. Combine the curds, chilli powder, coriander powder, dried mango powder, turmeric powder and 1 cup of water in a deep bowl and mix well using a whisk. Keep aside.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pressure cooker, add the coarsely crushed mangodis and sauté on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Add 1 cup of water, mix well and pressure cook for 2 whistles.
  4. Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid. Keep aside.
  5. Heat the remaining 1 tbsp of oil in a deep non-stick pan, add the cumin seeds, mustard seeds and asafoetida and sauté on a medium flame for a few seconds.
  6. Remove from the flame, add the curds mixture, cooked mangodi and salt and mix well.
  7. Switch on the flame and cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
  8. Add the papad, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 minute, while stirring occasionally.
  9. Serve immediately.

   Mangodi is a recipe prepared by soaking any dal in water for 6-8 hours and grinding it into a paste after adding salt to taste. Make it into small round shapes and let it dry under the sun for 2 days. The most commonly used dal to make mangodi is the yellow moong dal.
