4 whole tomatoes
2 tbsp butter
1 medium sized onion
4 peeled garlic (lehsun) cloves
2 tbsp tomato ketchup
1 tsp dried oregano
salt to taste

  1. Boil water in a deep non-stick pan. Put the tomatoes in the boiling water for 1 minute. Remove and cool them.
  2. Peel the tomatoes and chop them.
  3. Peel and chop the onion and garlic.
  4. Heat the butter in a saucepan. Add the onion and garlic and sauté on a medium flame for 4 minutes or till they turn brown in colour.
  5. Add the tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
  6. Add the tomato ketchup, oregano and salt and mix well.
  7. Use as required.

  1. If you do not have time to make pizza sauce, use 3 tablespoons of tomato ketchup and 1/2 teaspoon of chilli sauce instead.
