Shahjahani khichdi recipe is a brilliant khichdi made from rice and moong, this preparation is flavoured with whole garam masalas. Freshly grated coconut and cashew nuts are used to add volume and flavouring to the khichdi. Note there is some soaking in the recipe otherwise its fairly quick to make.

Samo khichdi, a faraali recipe that can be had during fasting days as well, is made by quickly sautéing all the ingredients together and cooking them for less than 10 minutes! Made from sama (sanwa millets), peanuts, green chillies, ginger and ghee, this samo khichdi is as simple to make.
