    Method
  1. Add water(2 cups)to tamarind
  2. And bring to boil for 10 min.
  3. Strain it with soup strain.
  4. Add roasted cummin powder,
  5. Black salt,dry ginger powder,
  6. Red chilli powder,garam masala
  7. Jaggery and salt.
  8. Bring it back to flame for about 10 minutes again,untill
  9. The jaggery melts completely.
  10. Make the chutney a little thin
  11. Because,it thickens on cooling.

I have never dared to make Saints chutney because my mother in law set such a high standard. But now there was no one there to make it and you cam tour rescue. It is bubbling along beautifully and the fragrance of tamarind, ginger, Garam masala stir is bringing back so many memories. Now to get those papdi and ballast out. Thank you for a perfect recipe.
