2 medium yams (suran)
1/2 cup green peas
1 tsp minced garlic (lehsun)
2 jalapeno peppers minced (optional)
1/2 tsp toasted sesame seeds (til) (optional)
2 tsp chopped coriander (dhania)
1/2 tsp salt (optional)
a pinch of pepper
2 tbsp cornstarch
1/4 tsp baking powder

1/4 cup green peas
1/2 cup capsicum
1/2 cup coriander (dhania)
1 jalapeno pepper (optional)
1 clove of garlic (lehsun)
1/4 tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera) powder
1/2 tsp coriander (dhania) powder
3/4 tsp salt (optional)
1 tsp sugar


  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  2. Combine kofta ingredients and mix thoroughly,
  3. Form into 1 inch balls and bake 1 inch apart
  4. Non-stick baking sheet until golden, about 30 min.
  5. Meanwhile, blend together 1st 5 gravy ingredients
  6. In a blender with 1 cup water.
  7. In sauce pan on med-high put mustard seeds and
  8. Heat until they start to pop, then add blended
  9. Cook 5 min and add the rest of the ingredients.
  10. Simmer for 10 min. cool koftas for 5 min. pour gravy into a serving dish, add koftas.
  11. Serve hot.
