Tips for microwave khandvi. 1. Remember the batter has to be of right consistency for the success of this recipe. So follow the exact proportion of curd and water. We also suggest you use measuring cups and spoons to make this recipe. 2. Further, cook it for the exact time as mentioned in the recipe. If it gets slightly extra cooked and the batter thickens, then spreading and rolling will be difficult. 3. Also ensure that there are no lumps in the batter or else the khandvis will not be uniform in size and the texture will also go for a toss.

I intend to make this soon. Is there any reason why in this recipe the khandvi is laid on a platform and not in greased plates used in traditional recipe? I am always skeptical of making khandvi because it can be a complete hit or miss. I am hoping they turn out fine with this recipe as I''m planning to make it for a party

Hi, Yes khandvi making is an art, we have used a platform as it is easier to spread, cut and roll than a greased thali...

you must know, that di-cotiledon seeds such as gram itself, are not to be used/eaten with curd in jain cooking. seeld also like those of fruits(melon seeds) vegetables(peas) and ???? (gram/pulses) are not eaten with curd/blended curd(chaas).

Hi Ayush, We completely respect your thoughts. But there are a lot of people who have this combination including jains as there is no substitute to it. Like if you consider this recipe of khandvi, to get the perfect khandvi, the mixture is always made up of curd/buttermilk with the besan. This combination gives you the best results.
