Ingredients

1 cup besan (bengal gram flour)
3/4 cup rice flour (chawal ka atta)
20 gms butter
salt to taste
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp carom seeds (ajwain)
water as required
oil for deep frying

Method
    Method
  1. Combine the besan and rice flour in a bowl and mix well.
  2. Add the butter, salt, chilli powder, carom seeds and mix well.
  3. Add water slowly to flour and knead into a soft dough.
  4. Fill this dough to murukku maker.
  5. Heat the oil in a kadhai and carefully press murukku shape directly to hot oil and deep fry till they turn golden brown and crisp from both the sides.
  6. Drain on an absorbent paper and cool and store in an air-tight container.
