Drop Scones recipe - How to make Drop Scones

Prepartion Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:    Makes 15 to 20 scones.

Ingredients


115 gms plain flour (maida)
1 tsp levelled, baking powder
1 egg
2 tsp ghee
2 tsp sugar
4 to 5 tbsp milk (approx.)
a pinch of salt
jam to serve
ghee for deep frying

Method
    Method
  1. Sieve the flour with the baking powder and salt.
  2. Add the milk, egg, ghee and sugar and make a thick batter.
  3. Put a spoonful of the mixture in a shallow frying pan. Add a little ghee and deep fry on both sides to make a beautifully puffed scone. Repeat with the remaining mixture.
  4. Serve hot with jam.
