A step by step procedure for preparing fried wontons in typical South east asian style of cooking. A Chinese favorite snack or starter recipe, fried wontons are filled with meat or vegetable filling and served with soup.

for the wraps
4 tbsp plain flour (maida)
1 tbsp oil
1/3 of an egg
a pinch of salt
for the filling
4 tbsp chopped cabbage
1 tbsp chopped bambooshoots
2 to 3 mushrooms (khumbh), chopped
1/4 tsp @ of salt sugar
1/8 tsp @ of pepper and ajinomotto
Method
- Make the dough with ingredients for the wraps using little water if necessary.
- Keep in the fridge for ½ an hour.
- Roll it cut into pieces.
- Mix all the ingredients for the filling fill in the wraps make the shape.
- Deep fry serve with hot garlic sauce or tomato ketchup.
