Khajur ki Barfi recipe - How to make Khajur ki Barfi

Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:    Makes 4 servings

Ingredients

200 gms dates (khajur)
100 gms mava (khoya)
50 gms sugar
1 tbsp dessicated coconut
5 cashewnuts (kaju) , slivered
5 almonds (badam) , slivered
1/2 tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder
2 tbsp ghee
1 cup milk
edible silver for garnishing

Method
    Method
  1. Remove the seeds from the dates and soak them in milk for about 2 hours and blend in a mixer to a coarse paste.
  2. Heat the ghee in a kadhai, add the dates puree and saute till it leaves the sides of the vessel.
  3. Add the khoya and coconut powder, mix well and saute till the ghee starts coming out.
  4. Add the cardamom powder, mix well and transfer the mixture into a greased plate and sprinkle slivers of cashew and almonds.
  5. Garnish with edible silver.
  6. When cool, cut it into desired shape.
