2 tsp poppy seeds (khus-khus)
1/2 tsp rice (chawal)
few cashewnuts (kaju) , almonds (badam) and raisins (kismis)
grated coconut or dessicated coconut
sugar or jaggery (gur)
cardamom (elaichi)
saffron (kesar) strands (optional)
1 glass of milk
Method
- Dry roast khus khus, rice grains, and the nuts.
- Powder them along with the coconut.
- Take a thick bottom pan and put the ground mixture along with water and boil it.
- Then add the sugar / jaggery, after it gets mixed add milk with saffron before removing from the fire.
- For dressing, roasted nuts and raisins can be used. serve it either way – hot or cold.
