It is not like an ordinary chutney, it can be eating with chapati too as a supper meal.

Makes 4 to 5 serving
6 to 7 medium sized onions
3 to 4 whole dry kashmiri red chillies
1 to 2 green chillies
3 of tamarind (imli)
6 to 7 tsp oil
1 tsp of urad dal (split black lentils)
1 tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
a pinch of asafoetida (hing)
5 to 6 curry leaves (kadi patta)
salt to taste

- Method
- First of all in a oan heat some oil and put in diced onions,tamarind and red chillies and green chillies and saute for some time till the onions turn transparent(pink in colour).Then take down from the flame and allow it to cool till room temperature.
- The put it in the mixer jar and grind till fine paste.
- After that remove it in a bowl. Now take some oil for tempering.when the oil gets heatin put rai seeds,udad dal,hing and curry leaves and pour it in the onion paste.Add salt to taste.
- Your tasty and delicious onion chutney is ready.
