Rice & coconut halva is an unique halwa recipe with soaked rice and freshly grated coconut. The left over rice can also be used to prepare this halva which is best served hot garnished with chopped nuts.

Ingredients



INGREDIENTS:-
1 cup raw rice (chawal)
1 cup grated coconut
1 1/4 cups grated jaggery (gur)
a pinch of cardamom (elaichi) powder
a pinch of salt
mixed nuts to taste

  1. Soak rice in water for 1 hour.
  2. Drain water and grind to a smooth paste along with coconut.
  3. Dilute it with 5 to 6 cups of water.
  4. Mix with jaggery and cook in a heavy kadai stirring constantly without forming lumps.
  5. When it becomes thick add ghee and cook for few minutes.
  6. Mix cardamom powder, fried nuts and pour on a greased tray.
  7. Cut into pieces and serve.
