1 cup long grained rice (basmati)
2 medium sized onions, sliced
3 tomatoes, finely chopped
1 tsp chilli powder
1/2 " piece of cinnamon (dalchini)
3 cloves (laung / lavang)
2 bayleaves (tejpatta)
2 cardamoms (elaichi)
1 tsp ginger-garlic (adrak-lehsun) paste
1 cup green peas
1/4 bunch coriander (dhania) leaves, chopped
salt to taste
Method
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add bay leaves,cloves,cinnamon,and cardamom.
- When the cloves pop,add the onions and fry till light brown.
- Add chopped tomatoes and saute.
- Put in the ginger-garlic paste and red chilly powder and saute.
- Add rice, green peas,coriander, salt and water.
- Mix well and low to cook till rice is done.
