Ingredients

3 cups quick cooking rolled oats
1 cup chopped walnuts (akhrot)
1/2 cup almond (badam) slivers
1/2 cup cashew nuts or sesame seeds (til)
3/4 cup chopped dates (khajur)
1 tsp vanilla essence
1/3 cup honey
a pinch of salt

Method
    Method
  1. Combine all the dry ingredients except dates in a large bowl and mix well.
  2. Spread the mixture on an oiled baking tray.
  3. Bake in the oven set at 160 degrees for an hour.
  4. You might have to stir the mixture in between to break the lumps and cook the granola evenly.
  5. Remove from oven and add the dried fruits.
  6. Allow to cool completely and store in airtight containers.

  1. Makes about 5 cups. You could eat this with curd, milk or even as a healthy topping for ice-cream.
