10 to 12 slices of bread, cut into small pieces
2 onions, finely chopped
2 tomatoes, finely chopped
3 green chillies
1/2 " piece of ginger (adrak), finely chopped
1/2 tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
2 tsp sugar
1 tsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
1/2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp butter
1 tsp chaat masala or sandwich masala
salt to taste
Method
- Heat the butter and add the mustard seeds
- When they splutter add the cumin seeds
- Add the green chillies and ginger pieces
- Add the cut onion and fry till it becomes slightly brown
- Add the tomatoes and fry for 5-7 mins
- Add the bread pieces
- Take 1/2 cup water in a separate bowl and add both sugar and salt and mix till it dissolves.
- Sprinkle this water on the bread pieces and mix well
- Finely add the chat / sandwich masala and garnish with corriander leaves and juice of 1/2 lime.
