Normally we make bengal gram during festival days but using horse gram will give a different flavour.

1 cup kulith (horse gram)
1 tbsp tamarind (imli) pulp
1 tsp jaggery (gur)
Tempering :
1 tbsp oil
1/4 tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
1/4 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
a few curry leaves (kadi patta)
To Grind coarsely :
2 tbsp grated coconut
2 green chillies
1 tsp sambaar powder
Method
- Soak horse gram overnight.
- Cook in a cooker for 4 whistles with salt and water.
- Take a pan and add oil. when hot add mustard and jeera and curry leaves. now add cooked horse gram and tamarind pulp. stir. finally add the jaggery and coarsely ground mixture. mix well and remove from fire.
