  3. Transfer into a mixer jar along with chaat masala, black salt and mustard oil.

  1. To make jhal muri masala, in a broad nonstick pan, add 2 tbsp cumin seeds (jeera).
  2. Add 2 tbsp coriander (dhania) seeds.
  3. Add 1 tbsp fennel seeds (saunf).
  4. Add 1 tbsp black peppercorns (kalimirch).
  5. Add 1 tsp cloves (laung / lavang).
  6. Add 1 tsp fenugreek (methi) leaves.
  7. Add 1 small cinnamon stick.
  8. Add 4 whole dry kashmiri red chillies.
  9. Dry roast on medium flame for 3 to 4 minutes, while stirring continuously.
  10. Remove in a plate and allow it to cool completely.
  11. Transfer into a mixer jar.
  12. Add ½ tbsp chaat masala.
  13. Add 1 tsp black salt.
  14. Add 1 tbsp mustard oil.
  15. Blend into a powder. 
  16. Jhal muri masala is ready store in an air tight container and use as require.
