Methi Pakodas recipe - How to make Methi Pakodas

Ingredients

1/4 cup chopped fenugreek (methi) leaves
3/4 cup besan (bengal gram flour)
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup chopped onions
1 green chilli
2 to 3 pinches red chilli powder
2 to 3 pinches of turmeric powder (haldi)
1 pinch baking soda
1 pinch asafoetida (hing)
1 tsp finely chopped ginger (adrak)
salt to taste
oil for shallow frying or deep frying

  1. In a mixing bowl, take ¼ cup methi leaves, onions, green chilli, ginger, 2red chilli powder, turmeric, asafoetida,baking soda, and salt ,add ¾ cup besan and ¼ cup water and mix well into a smooth batter. keep the batter covered for 5 to 6 minutes.
  2. Heat oil for shallow frying or deep frying in a kadai or pan, add spoonfuls of the methi pakora batter to the hot oil.
  3. Deep fry till they turn golden brown and crisp from sides.
  4. Serve hot.
