A simple and tasty way of adding healthful spinach or palak in your diet by adding chopped palak leaves into the wheat dough, palak roti are best enjoyed hot with curd and green chutney.

Makes 2 servings
2 cups whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
1/4 cup besan (bengal gram flour)
1/2 cup finely chopped spinach (palak) leaves
1/4 tsp ginger-green chilli paste
1 tsp coriander (dhania) powder
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera) powder
1/4 tsp carom seeds (ajwain)
salt to taste
1/2 tsp sugar
1/4 cup curds (dahi)
oil for cooking
Method
- Method
- Combine all the ingredients in a bowl, mix well and knead into a soft dough, using enough water.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and roll out each portion into a circle of 6" diameter, using the flour for rolling.
- Heat a tava and cook each roti, using little oil, till golden brown spots appear on both the sides.
- Serve hot.
