Raw Mango Chitranna recipe - How to make Raw Mango Chitranna

1 big sized raw mango
1 cup grated coconut
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
6 to 8 green chillies
2 to 4 red chillies
a small bunch coriander (dhania) leaves
1/2 tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
asafoetida (hing) to taste
salt to taste
jaggery (gur) to taste
2 to 3 tbsp oil
1/2 cup peanuts
1 tsp urad dal (split black lentils)
1 tsp chana dal (split Bengal gram)
a few curry leaves (kadi patta)
2 cups leftover steamed rice
Method
- Grate the mango, add coconut,salt, greenchillies, jaggary, mustard, hing,salt, coriander,and make a paste with very little water.
- Heat oil in a pan add mustard urad dhal ,channa dhal and curry leaves.
- Add ground nuts and fry till they are brown and finally the paste .
- Cook for a couple of minutes and finally mix in the rice taste and serve.
