Samia Curd Rice recipe - How to make Samia Curd Rice

1 cup semolina (rava)
1 cup curds (dahi)
1 tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
3 tsp oil for tempering
1 tsp chana dal (split Bengal gram)
3 green chillies, finely chopped
1/2 " piece of ginger (adrak), chopped
a pinch of asafoetida (hing)
salt to taste
1 spring of curry leaves (kadi patta)
chopped coriander (dhania) for garnishing
2 tsp ghee
Method
- Heat ghee in a pan and fry samia until the colour changes slightly.
- Boil 2 glasses of water in a bowl and add roasted samia to it.
- Cook it for a few minutes until samia becomes transperent and soft.
- Pour samia into a strainer under cold running water and keep aside.
- In a pan,heat oil and add all the ingredients for tadka including curry leaves.
- Add this tadka to curd.
- Now add samia and salt to taste and mix well.
- Garnish it with coriander leaves.
