Sesame chutney or a chutney made from til seeds is a great add on to any meal. The sesame seeds are naturally rich in heartfriendly oils and hence make for a health add on or dip with any snack or meal.
Sesame Chutney recipe - How to make Sesame Chutney
Preparation Time: Cooking Time: Total Time:
50 gms sesame seeds (til)
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
1/2 tsp coriander (dhania) seeds
few curry leaves (kadi patta)
1 tsp urad dal (split black lentils)
6 whole dry kashmiri red chillies
1 bowl grated dry coconut
a small lump of tamarind (imli) and jaggery (gur)
Method
- All the ingredients are fried in coconut oil or ghee and ground into chutney using as little water as possible.
- To the thick chutney is added a tbsp of heated oil with asafoetida.
- This chutney goes well with chapattis, bread, dosas etc.
- It can be served with hot rice too.
