This is a recipe of Assam specially prepared during the summers. it is normally taken with rice and is not served very hot.
Summer Delight recipe - How to make Summer Delight

1 cup moong dal (split green gram)
1/2 tsp finely chopped ginger (adrak)
2 bayleaves (tejpatta)
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1/4 tsp baking soda
salt to taste
2 tbsp mustard (rai / sarson) oil
water to cook the dal
Method
- Soak the dal for half an hour and then wash properly.
- In a heavy bottomed kadhai add all the ingredients.
- Add enough water so that the dal is fully immersed under water and cover the kadhai.
- Cook dal on medium flame until cooked.
- Tastes best with rice.
