1/2 kg tomatoes
1/2 cup coconut , grated
3 onions
1 cup rice (chawal)
salt to taste
1 tsp chilli powder
2 green chillies
1/2 tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
1/2 tsp urad dal (split black lentils)
a few curry leaves (kadi patta)
1/4 cup mint leaves (phudina)
10 tsp oil
10 soya chunks (nuggets), soaked
Method
- Soak rice for 10 mts.
- Blend tomatoes, coconut, mint with little water and strain.the juice should be 2 cups, add water accordingly.
- Heat oil in a cooker and season with mustard, urad, curryleaves, green chilli.
- Add oinion and saute till pinkish, add soaked chunks,soaked rice and mix.
- Add the tomato juice, salt chilli powder,mix well and pressure cook for 1 whistle.
