The healthy and spicy yam cutlets are quite an innovative vegetable cutlet recipe with yam or arbi boiled and mashed and then made into small flat cutlets. These spicy yam cutlets can be stored in fridge and deep fried later to a crispy finish. Relish with mint chutney.

Ingredients


yam(kanda-root)-½kg
3 whole dry kashmiri red chillies
salt to taste
1 cup oil
2 onions
curry leaves-1twig
rice flour-2tsp
cummin-1tsp
turmeric-1pinc
greenchilli-3

Method

  1. Remove peel to the yam,clean it,
  2. Grind greenchilli,onion,red chilli,salt,turmeric coarsely.add rice flour to make a stiff dough to make cutlets.
  3. Mix curry leaves,cummin.
  4. Prepare equal sized balls,and make patties &
  5. Cook them on tawa(griddle)using 2tsp oil.
  6. Cook both sides to golden brown colour,but on low flame.
  7. Yam takes little more time to cook.
