colocassia (arbi) as required
powdered peanuts as required
For the chat:
tamarind (imli) (lemon sized ball)
3/4 cup coriander (dhania)
mint leaves (phudina) as required
1 onion
2 green chillies
2 tbsp grated jaggery (gur)
6 to 8 dates (khajur)
1 sour apple (without the peel & deseeded)
15 gms raisins (kismis)
cumin seeds (jeera)
1 tbsp dried mango powder (amchur)
1 tsp garam masala
dried ginger (soonth) powder as required
coriander (dhania) powder as required
salt to taste
Method
for the chat
- Boil, peel and cut the arbi into small pieces and keep aside.

- Grind all the ingredients for the chat except the tamarind to a fine paste.
- Soak the tamarind for 15 minutes in 1 cup of water and then squeeze out the pulp.
- Add the tamarind pulp to the chat paste and strain finely.
- Now add the arbi pieces to the chat.
- Garnish with groundnuts.
